Georgia increases gas imports from Azerbaijan

Georgia imported 277.59 million cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan in the amount of $47,303 in January of this year, Trend reports citing the Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).

On an annualized basis, gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 16.89 million cubic meters, or 6.4 percent.

During the reporting period, Georgia purchased 2,517 tons of oil and oil products worth $1.64 million from Azerbaijan. In January 2019, Azerbaijan did not export these products to Georgia.

Georgia exported goods worth $43.98 million to Azerbaijan in January 2020.

On an annualized basis, Georgia’s exports to Azerbaijan grew by 27.6 percent.

During the reporting period, Georgia imported products worth $58.7 million from Azerbaijan.

The trade turnover of Georgia with Azerbaijan in January 2020 amounted to $102.74 million.

As reported, Russia exported 23,403 tons of petroleum and petroleum oils to Georgia in a total amount of $14.1 million in January 2020, which is 7.19 tons more compared to January 2019.
