Azerbaijan increases gas exports via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum

Azerbaijan exported 2.033 million cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline from January through February 2020, which is by 15.3 percent more than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline accounted for 33.5 percent of the total volume of transported Azerbaijani gas, rising by 0.8 percentage points year-on-year.

Around 6.063 billion cubic meters of gas was transported via the main pipelines of Azerbaijan from January through February 2020, which is by 13.1 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

The length of Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. It transports gas produced at Shah Deniz gas and condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Georgia and Turkey.
