Iran's exports of products via Pars Special Economic Energy Zone increase

Exports of products increased by 15 percent through Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ), at the Asaluyeh county of Bushehr province in southern Iran, in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) compared to the year before last (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), said Director General of PSEEZ Customs Office Ahmad Pourheydar, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to Pourheydar, more than 20.6 million tons of product worth $7.6 billion were exported through PSEEZ customs last Iranian year.

Pourheydar added that about 19.6 million tons of non-oil products worth $6.8 billion were exported through the PSEEZ customs in the last Iranian year.

The official said that as many as 985,000 tons of gas condensates worth $836 million were also exported through this customs last Iranian year.

"Last Iranian year, imports of products through the PSEEZ decreased by 35 percent compared to the year before (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019). About 134,000 tons of products worth $2 billion were imported in the last Iranian year," he said.

Pourheydar said that as many as 97,000 tons of equipment (related to projects) worth $18.9 billion were imported. This is a 49 percent decrease compared to the previous year.
