Well at Iran's Dorud oil field in Bushehr Province repaired

An old well (KG-4) of the Dorud oil field on the Kharg Island in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) has been repaired and returned to production, director of National Iranian Drilling Company's (NIDC) offshore drilling operations Siamak Afshari said, Trend reports citing the company.

Afshari noted that the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) and the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) provided help with repairing the well.

He added that about 1.9 million euros have been saved since the well was returned to production.

The director emphasized that National Iranian Drilling Company uses 'Fath 42' heavy drilling rig for drilling work.

Iran's Dorud oil field has 6.7 billion barrels of oil reserves. There are 53 wells in this oil field. The field produces 170,000 barrels of oil per day.

Well KG-4 of the Dorud field was drilled on Kharg Island in 1963 and is considered one of the oldest wells in the field.
