Thermal power plants (TPPs) of Azerbaijan produced 4.56 billion kilowatts/hours of electricity from January through February 2021, the Ministry of Energy told Trend.
TPPs reduced electricity generation by 4.4 percent, or 125.7 million kilowatts/hours, compared to the same period in 2020.
During the reporting period, the wind power plants of Azerbaijan produced over 15 million kilowatts/hours of electricity, solar - 5.5 million kilowatts/hours, the power plant of the solid waste disposal plant - 35.3 million kilowatts/hours, the ministry said.
The production of electricity in Azerbaijan in 2020 amounted to 25.8 billion kilowatts/hours. At the same time, the generation of electricity by TPPs amounted to 24.4 billion kilowatts/hours (an increase of 12.4 percent compared to 2019), wind power plants - 1.06 billion kilowatts/hours, solar - 46.9 million kilowatts/hours, the plant's power plant for the disposal of solid household waste - 200.6 million kilowatts/hours.
