The main target of bp in Azerbaijan for 2021 is to fulfill the production plan both for Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) and Shah Deniz, Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, bp Vice president for communications and advocacy, Middle East and Caspian, told Trend.
"To date, production at the abovementioned fields were in line with the yearly plan. Shah Deniz production ramp-up continued in a planned manner. On Dec.31 2020, commercial gas supplies to Europe began with the commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor’s European leg. Commercial gas exports to Turkey have been going on for several years. We have reached the peak of the planned gas supplies to Turkey."
“Moreover, the company plans to drill exploration wells for the Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula (SWAP). One of the wells is expected to be drilled this summer and if time allows, we will be able to drill the second one as well. As you may know, this year we completed the first exploration well at Shafag-Asiman with the ongoing interpretation of the data. At the same time, interpretation of the seismic survey results at D230 structure is also underway,” he said.
Aslanbayli noted that bp is in talks with Azerbaijan’s energy ministry on expansion of cooperation in the renewable energy sphere and engagement in new projects.
