Iran`s gasoline consumption increasing

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct. 9

Trend:

Average daily gasoline consumption in Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2021) has increased by 14 percent to reach 85 million liters, compared to the same period last Iranian year (March 2020 through March 2021), Trend reports citing IRNA.

The average daily consumption of gasoline in the first six months of the previous Iranian year stood at 74.5 million liters, the figure has increased to 80 million in the first six months of the current Iranian year (started on March 21).

According to IRNA, in mid-November 2019, the Iranian government started rationing subsidized gasoline and increased fuel prices as part of a plan to reduce the energy subsides to use the revenues for supporting low-income families.
