Azerbaijan’s domestic natural gas consumption stood at 12.53 billion cubic meters in 2020, a 6.27 percent more compared to 11.79 billion cubic meters in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the Annual Statistical Bulletin 2021 of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
GECF estimates that Azerbaijan’s domestic gas consumption amounted to 8.99 billion cubic meters in 2011, 9.34 billion cubic meters in 2012, 9.43 billion cubic meters in 2013, 10.05 billion cubic meters in 2014, 11.12 billion cubic meters in 2015, 10.85 billion cubic meters in 2016, 10.50 billion cubic meters in 2017 and 10.79 billion cubic meters in 2018.
The country’s gross natural gas production stood at 35.34 billion cubic meters in 2020, or 6.57 percent more as compared to 33.16 billion cubic meters in 2019.
Its proven gas reserves stood at 1.917 trillion cubic meters in 2020, remaining unchanged from 2019.
