The development and modernization of the oil and gas industry,
as well as the diversification of its export opportunities, are one
of the main directions of Turkmenistan in 2022, Trend reports citing
Turkmenportal.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made the remark
during the expanded government meeting as part of an extraordinary
meeting of the People's Council (Halk Maslakhaty) on February
11.
He also emphasized the significance of developing innovative hydrocarbon processing facilities and establishing a multivariate pipeline network for energy resource supply.
The Turkmen leader was instructed to continue work on the comprehensive modernization of the fuel and energy complex, as well as attract more foreign investment for the implementation of exploration projects, development of new deposits and production and processing of hydrocarbon resources.
Development of the Barsagelmez, Goturdepe, Demirgazyk Goturdepe, Nebitdag, Altyguy, Uzynada, Günorta Uzynada, Kemir, Akpatlawuk and Galkynyş fields, are among the measures to be taken in order to increase the country’s oil, natural gas, and gas condensate reserves.
Moreover, Berdimuhamedov was instructed to ensure new routes for the export of Turkmen natural gas to foreign markets, increase production and export of liquefied gas, as well as actively carry out the construction of a strategically important project for the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.
Building new natural gas processing plants and implementing a digital system in the oil and gas complex should be also prioritized in 2022.
