BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Oil transportation to Türkiye via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline amounted to 54.81 million barrels from January through March 2023 against 50.7 million in the same period of the previous year, Trend reports via the Turkish BOTAS company.

Thus, oil supplies to Türkiye via BTC increased by 7.94 percent, or 4.03 million barrels year-on-year.

The total length of the BTC oil pipeline is 1.768 kilometers, of which 443 kilometers run through the territory of Azerbaijan, 249 kilometers – Georgia, and 1.076 kilometers - Türkiye. Construction of the pipeline began in April 2003, and its filling with oil took place on May 18, 2005.

The shareholders of BTC Co, which was established on August 1, 2002, to implement the project, are as follows: bp (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), MOL (8.9 percent), Equinor (8.71 percent), TRAO (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.4 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), ExxonMobil (2.5 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).

More than 4 billion barrels of oil have been transported through the BTC pipeline since the beginning of commercial deliveries in 2006 until the end of 2022.
