BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Azerbaijan exported 1,170 tons of petroleum bitumen worth $321,220 from January through May 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, in quantitative terms by 97.97 percent, while in value - by 97.94 percent less compared to the indicator of the same period in 2022.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through May 2023 increased by 11.68 percent ($2.4 billion) compared to the same period in 2022 (from $20.5 billion to $22.9 billion).
Exports accounted for $16.1 billion, which is $697.8 million (4.53 percent) more than in the same period last year, in the structure of foreign trade turnover. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 70.2 percent against 75.01 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports during the reporting period increased by $1.7 billion (33.16 percent) year-on-year - from $5.1 billion to about $6.8 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 29.79 percent against 24.9 percent a year earlier.
As a result, the balance of foreign trade turnover, while remaining positive, decreased year-on-year by more than $1 billion (9.78 percent) to $9.2 billion against $10.2 billion during the reporting period from January through May 2022.
