Philippines officials expressed their intensions to buy oil from Azerbaijan during a recent meeting with Ibrahim Hajjiyev, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to this Country.
The Azerbaijani diplomat told Trend that the Philippine party shows a great interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the oil and gas sphere. The Azerbaijani Ambassador has stated the intention of the Philippine party to the Azerbaijani Government.
If Azerbaijan positively estimates this proposal, then the above-mentioned issue may become a subject of discussions at a bilateral level, said the Ambassador.
Notably, Mr Hajjiyev is the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Indonesia. From February 2007 he will simultaneously take the responsibility of Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Philippines.
