Azerbaijan is about to sign an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the sphere of telecommunications and information technologies with China, Ayaz Bayramov, the Chief of the Department for International Relations and Affairs with NGOs of the Ministry of Telecommunications and IT told Trend today.
According to him, the draft project has been already prepared and submitted to the Chinese party.
The Memorandum on Mutual Understanding in the Sphere of Telecommunications and IT was signed during the official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to China in March 2005. In accordance with the items of this Memorandum the signing of intergovernmental agreement between the two countries is stipulated.
Both parties are to sign this document during the International Exhibition-Conference on IT and Telecommunication of BakuTel 2006 to be held in Baku on October this year.
