Companies from Russian St. Petersburg will be involved in the development of tourism in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the press service of the Uzbek State Committee for Tourism.
The Uzbek delegation visited the northern capital and met with Russian tour operators. Following the meeting, the parties will prepare a cooperation agreement and work out joint projects.
In particular, Russian "Meander" construction company presented to the Uzbek side projects for the restoration of monuments and historical buildings.
In addition, a memorandum on cooperation in the field of inbound tourism development in Uzbekistan was signed between the State Committee for Tourism and the Russian tourism company Aerotour.
The number of tours from Russia to Uzbekistan increased by 35 percent in 2019. Uzbekistan holds the 39th place with 96,000 Russian tourist trips in the first half of 2019, which is 35 percent more than in the first half of 2018.
