A total of 1.1 million tons of strategically important goods were transported from the Imam Khomeini port in southern Iran to the country's provinces during the 27 days of the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), an official of the Roads and Transport Organization of Iran Gholam Hossein Daghagheleh said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
According to Daghagheleh, these goods were transported by 47,000 trucks.
The official added that on average, about 43,000 tons of goods were transported daily by 1,900 trucks.
As reported, Iran's Imam Khomeini port is located in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran). The port covers an area of 11,000 hectares and can receive 54.5 million tons of products per year. The most parts of cargo in Iran are transported through this port.
The strategically important goods in Iran are sugar, wheat, animal feed and etc.
