BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 13.7 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, more than 343,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port over the reporting month. Of this, about 215,000 tons were loaded and 128,000 tons were unloaded.

During the 1st month, 213,000 tons of cargo were exported and 54,300 tons were imported through the Bushehr port.

In addition, 841 tons of cargo were loaded and 671 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, as well as 48 tons of cargo were loaded and 73,200 tons were unloaded for cabotage in the 1st month.

Also, 1,650 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for other purposes.

According to the statistics, 13,600 tons of essential products, 5 tons of metal products, 182,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,830 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 6,000 tons of chemicals, 1,230 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 4 tons of small and assorted goods, 40,200 tons of container products, and 97,900 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
