ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 28. Transneft (a Russian state-controlled oil pipeline company) signed an agreement with Kazakhstan on the transit of Kazakh oil through Russian territory in 2024, Trend reports.
As the company noted, the agreement was signed during Transneft delegation's working visit to Kazakhstan.
An updated memorandum of cooperation was also signed between Transneft and KazTransOil (an oil pipeline company of the Republic of Kazakhstan that provides services for transporting oil to the domestic market, for transit purposes, and for export).
In addition, during the visit, a meeting between Transneft President Nikolay Tokarev and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took place.
According to the company, at the meeting, issues of interaction between the two countries in the field of transportation of energy resources were discussed, and, in particular, the state and prospects of cooperation within the framework of the activities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
The Russian delegation also held negotiations with the management of KazMunayGas and KazTransOil. Among the issues discussed were cooperation within the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and the development of technological cooperation.
Transneft is the world's largest oil pipeline company, owning 68,000 km of main pipelines, more than 500 pumping stations, and more than 24 million cubic meters of reservoir tanks. The company transports 83 percent of the oil produced in Russia and 30 percent of the petroleum products produced in Russia.
