ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 26. Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan's Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan Zhakupov held a meeting with the General Director of Russian Inter RAO – Export LLC Maxim Sergeyev in St. Petersburg, Trend reports.
During the meeting, the parties signed a cooperation agreement between Samruk-Kazyna JSC and Inter RAO – Export LLC on projects for the construction of three thermal power plants in the cities of Kokshetau, Semey and Ust-Kamenogorsk
On November 13, the energy ministers of Kazakhstan and Russia Almassadam Satkaliyev and Nikolay Shulginov signed a memorandum of cooperation on projects for the construction of three thermal power plants in Kazakhstan.
By 2027 it is planned to build a thermal power plant with a capacity of 240 MW in Kokshetau. It is also planned to build a thermal power plant in Semey with a capacity of 360 MW. In Ust-Kamenogorsk, the construction of a thermal power plant is planned until 2035, its capacity is still unknown.
The Kokshetau TPP is already ready. Next year, implementation of the Kokshetau TPP will begin.
The feasibility study will be developed for the construction of thermal power plants in Semey and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
In addition, Nurlan Zhakupov met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Firma ORGRES LLC, Sultan Yakhyayev. The parties signed an cooperation agreement on construction of power units No. 3 and No. 4 at Ekibastuz GRES-2 Power Station using Russian-made equipment.
