Committee of the Kyrgyz Parliament on International Affairs and Interparliamentary Cooperation endorsed ratification of Convention of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization against Terrorism at a plenary session today, 24.kg reported.
According to head of anti-terrorist center under Kyrgyzstan's State National Security Committee Marat Imankulov, escalation of terrorism all over the world causes concern and forces to look for new effective measures to fight against this evil. "Ratification of the Convention will allow SCO member-states to exchange information, carry out operative-search activities on fight against terrorism," he said.
Mr. Imankulov noted that the concept provides for the responsibility for recruiting and training of terrorists, public calls for terrorism. "The Convention will contribute to ensuring national security of the Kyrgyz Republic," he added.
