BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 30. Investors from Saudi Arabia are exploring the possibilities of establishing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the field of energy, Trend reports via Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the ministry, representatives of Saudi Arabian ACWA Power and FAS Holding company visited Kyrgyzstan to learn about the capabilities of hydropower and renewable energy sources of Kyrgyzstan.
During the visit of the construction site of Kambar Ata-1 HPP, Saudi Arabian companies expressed their interest in participating in the Kambar Ata-1 HPP project.
In addition, they visited Issyk-Kul region in order to familiarize themselves with the possibilities of generating electricity from the sun and wind and consider joint activities for the implementation of projects for the construction of solar and wind power plants in Kyrgyzstan
The Saudi Arabian side stressed that Kyrgyzstan's energy sector has a wide range of opportunities and noted that a decision on cooperation will be made after consultations.
