DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 20. The International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) and its network partners plan to support the Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan in various areas related to healthcare and well-being in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the IFRC report, one of the primary objectives of the assistance is to enhance access to medical and social services for communities across the country. The Red Crescent Society, with the support of the IFRC, will actively engage in health promotion and first aid training programs within local communities.
To address food insecurity among children, the Red Crescent Society plans to work closely with families and local partners to implement solutions that mitigate the food insecurity risks faced by vulnerable children.
At the same time, recognizing the significance of mental health and psychosocial support, the Red Crescent Society plans to focus on strengthening capacity in this area.
In alignment with global health initiatives, the Red Crescent Society will also implement a project focusing on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). This project seeks to address the growing impact of NCDs on public health and enhance preventive measures and treatment options for affected individuals.
To reinforce the importance of blood donation, the IFRC will help the Red Crescent Society organize information campaigns to raise awareness about the significance of donating blood.
Moreover, there are plans to establish in Tajikistan a joint clinic with the Iranian Red Crescent.
The International Federation of Red Cross, with its extensive network of 192 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and around 14 million volunteers, remains the world's largest humanitarian network.
