DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 30. Tajikistan and Germany consider it necessary to collaborate establishing joint agricultural processing ventures, Trend reports.
This statement was made during a bilateral meeting between Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon and Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.
Additionally, the parties stressed the importance of establishing logistics centers in Tajikistan. The discussions encompassed various aspects of trade and economic cooperation, including energy, industry, transport, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties, especially in the fields of education and tourism.
In the context of Tajikistan's industrial development, priority sectors were identified, including mining, metallurgy, machinery, light industry, food production, and attracting investment across various industries.
Collaboration in areas related to water, climate change, expanding green energy production capacity, and implementing Tajikistan's global initiatives in water and glacier protection were pivotal points of discussion.
Given the situation in neighboring Afghanistan, it was emphasized that Tajikistan has effectively utilized its logistics capabilities to provide humanitarian aid, including the opening of four border markets. Tajikistan exports electricity, food products, and construction materials to its neighboring country.
In conclusion, both parties expressed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and harnessing the existing potential. President Rahmon extended an invitation to Scholz to visit Tajikistan.
