Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation and Turkey’s Gap Insaat are actively building carbamide and ammonia producing plant in the city of Garabogaz of the Balkan province in the west of Turkmenistan, said the article of the Nebit-Gaz, the online newspaper of the country’s Oil and Gas Complex.

The new plant near the coast of the Garabogazkol Gulf of the Caspian Sea will produce the nitrogen fertilizers in demand - carbamide and ammonia by using natural gas.

The plant is being constructed since December 2014, and it will produce 1.155 million tons of carbamide and 640,000 tons of ammonia per year, which will be mainly exported through the Caspian Sea.

At this stage, steel structures are being installed, pipes laid, systems for pumping in and pumping out the sea water to cool the equipment, major power plant and other critical facilities are being built. At the same time, the equipment made in Japan, South Korea, Europe and the US is being installed at the plant.
