BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23. Turkmenistan and the UAE plan to create a joint bank with representative offices in both countries, Trend reports citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).
The issue was discussed during a meeting in Abu Dhabi between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Describing the Turkmen market as extremely promising, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan voiced a proposal to create a joint bank and open its representative office in both countries.
In turn, Berdimuhamedov supported this proposal, noting that Turkmenistan will create all the opportunities for this.
The minister noted that the UAE is interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan, which they see as a reliable and promising partner with huge resource and economic potential.
During the meeting, the importance of intensifying trade and economic ties was emphasized, issues of cooperation in a number of promising areas were discussed, including in the fuel and energy sector, as well as in such areas as oil refining, gas chemical industry and transport.
