BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. The Galkynysh gas and oil field located in the Mary region of Turkmenistan has a reserve of about 84 trillion cubic meters of gas, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was stated by Stephen Wright, Technical Director at GaffneyCline at the forum on attracting investments in the energy sector of Turkmenistan held from April 26 through 27 in Dubai (UAE).
He noted that according to seismological studies, the depth of gas deposits in the Galkynysh field is about 600 meters, and the volume of resources is about 84 trillion cubic meters of gas.
According to him, the study of the ratio of water and gas made it possible to predict data on the depletion of pressure in formations for 10, 25 and 50 years.
Wright stressed that during the research it was revealed that even after 50 years of using the field, only 45 percent of the gas deposits will be extracted, provided that all seven stages of development are completed.
