ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 22. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan from January through November 2023 amounted to $970.1 million, which is 10.5 percent more than in the same period last year ($877.5 million), Trend reports.
According to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, Turkmenistan entered the top 10 largest foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan in the first nine months of this year.
Turkmenistan exported more than $809.6 million worth of goods to Uzbekistan during the reporting period, which is 17 percent more compared to the same period in 2022 ($691.7 million).
At the same time, Turkmenistan's imports from Uzbekistan decreased by 13.6 percent and amounted to $160.5 million, compared to $185.8 million in the period from January through November 2022.
Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover in the first eleven months of 2023 overall exceeded $57.3 billion, an increase of 26.2 percent, or $11.8 billion, compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in 2022 amounted to $926.3 million, which is 2.7 percent higher than in 2021.
