Uzbekistan’s exports of fruit, vegetables to Russia exceed similar exports to China

The volume of fruit and vegetables exports from Uzbekistan to Russia exceeded the export of the same products to China by 4.7 times, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the State Statistics Committee, Russia remains the largest consumer of Uzbek vegetables and fruits in value terms for eleven months of 2020.

Some 341,900 tons of agricultural products worth $243.1 million were shipped to Russia from January through November 2020 with a share of 26 percent in the total export volume.

Kazakhstan remained the second major consumer of agricultural products from Uzbekistan with 592.900 tons of vegetables and fruits for $238.8 million exported for eleven months of this year with a share of 25.5 in the total export volume.

Volume of fruits and vegetables shipped to Kyrgyzstan for 11M2020 in physical terms amounted to 130,600 tons, while in value terms it accounted for $175.8 million.

Pakistani consumers for the reported period shipped 45,700 tons of fruit and vegetable products worth $69 million.

It was noted that these countries remain the main export markets for fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of exports of fruits and vegetables for 11M2020 amounted to 1.3 million tons and, in value terms, its volume exceeded $936.3 million. The rate of decline, compared to the same period in 2019, accounted for 17.8 percent.

In particular, 707,700 tons of vegetables were exported in the amount of $358.7 million, as well as 381,800 tons of fruits and berries in the amount of $339.2 million for the reported period. The rate of decline in value terms, compared with the same period in 2019, amounted to 18.4 percent and 12 percent, respectively.

At the same time, the share of fruits and vegetables in total exports of Uzbekistan from January through November 2020 amounted to 6.6 percent.
