BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Uzbekistan in 2022 totaled $8 billion, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, said at the meeting in Oliy Majlis (parliament), Trend reports.
According to Mirziyoyev, the FDI decreased by 7.5 percent in 2022 year-on-year ($8.6 billion in 2021).
At the same time, the volume of GDP exceeded $80 billion for the first time.
The president emphasized that during the reporting period the country's exports reached $19 billion, while Uzbekistan's imports reached $27.6 billion.
Meanwhile, the growth of Uzbekistan’s economy will reach at least 5.5 percent by the end of 2022, he added.
