Uzbekistan, Russia forge agreement for supply of liquefied natural gas tanks

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 21. Uzbekistan and the Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan signed an agreement for 160 million rubles ($1.7 million) for the supply of liquefied natural gas tanks, Trend reports.

The news followed a working visit of a delegation of Bashkortostan headed by the first Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the region Lena Izotova to Tashkent.

Russian Trade Mission in Uzbekistan said the delegation included eight companies producing and supplying laboratory equipment, containers for liquefied gas, landscape crops, geosynthetic materials, agricultural and food products.

At a meeting with the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan Konstantin Zlygostev and businessmen of Bashkortostan discussed prospects of the development of industrial cooperation.

The share of investments and loans from Russia for the development of Uzbekistan’s economy amounted to approximately $2.9 billion from January through September 2023

As per data provided by Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, the recorded number comprises 15.9 percent of the total foreign investments, thus making Russia the top second country among those investing in Uzbekistan.

Investments and loans from the Russian Federation constituted 20.3 percent of the total foreign investments in the country in 2022, which translates to roughly $2 billion, standing as the biggest figure among all investing nations.
