TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 19. Uzbekistan exported 5,100 tons of tomatoes for a total of $6.1 million from January through February 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the recorded volume (tons) is 32.8 percent lower year-on-year (7,600 tons).
At the same time, the volume of tomato exports from Uzbekistan amounted to 2,500 tons in February 2024. This is 3.8 percent less than the previous month (2,600 tons).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 57,500 tons of tomatoes worth $44 million in 2023. This figure indicates a 24.7 percent decline over the previous year (76,400 tons).
In total, Uzbekistan exported 251,200 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $150.1 million from January through February 2024. This indicator increased 1.9 times, or 115,500 tons, year-on-year.
Pakistan (26.6 percent), Russia (26.1 percent), Kazakhstan (9.1 percent), and China (9 percent) were the main export markets for horticultural products.
