A terror attack occured on Saturday morning in Iran's Khorramabad city of Lurestan province, Mehr reported.

Two motocyclists opened fire at a group of military servicemen in a drive-by shooting. As a result one man was killed instantly, one more serviceman was injured. After the attack, the killers fled the crime scene.

Deputy Head of Security of Lurestan's province, Hasan Shariatnejad said that the incident happened approximately at 6:30 (local time) in the morning.

He added that there might be more victims, both dead and injured as a result of the drive-by shooting.

"The search for those responsible for the shooting goes on. We also continue to investigate the causes for the incident," Shariatnejad added.

A flow of terror attacks has been going on in Iran for quite some time now. Just recently, a magnetic bomb was attached to the car of 32-year-old nuclear scientist Ahmadi Roshan during the morning rush-hour in the capital, Tehran. The bomb exploded, killing Roshan, and his driver as well.

The blast took place on the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Iranian university professor and nuclear scientist, Massoud Ali Mohammadi, who was also assassinated in a terrorist bomb attack in Tehran in January 2010.

The assassination method used was similar to the 2010 terrorist bomb attacks against the then university professor, Fereidoun Abbassi Davani - who is now the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization - and his colleague Majid Shahriari. Abbasi Davani survived the attack, while Shahriari was martyred.

Another Iranian scientist, Dariush Rezaeinejad, was also assassinated through the same method on 23 July 2011.
