Iran plans to increase its oil output in the Bahregan oil region by 35,000 barrels per day to 175,000 bpd by 2015, an Iran Offshore Oilfields Company (IOOC) official said.
Roham Qasemi told ILNA that the region holds around 47 billion barrels of in-situ reserves and 46 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, of which some 39 billion barrels and 11 trillion cubic feet are recoverable, respectively.
Oil exploration in Bahregan started in 1951 and crude production began in 1962.
