Gaddam Dharmendra, new ambassador of India to Iran has stressed the necessity to facilitate the establishment of a branch of an Iranian private bank in India.
Speaking in a meeting with the governor of Central Bank of Iran, Dharmendra expressed hope that deep historical ties between two countries and their good relations would go ouver the limits and the US pressure, Trend reports citing IRNA.
He noted, India intends to move toward Iran's development and expanding ties though diplomacy.
Iranian Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati said during the meeting that the US is "running propaganda to create psychological atmosphere to affect Iran's economy."
Hemmati insisted on expanding economic relations between Iran and India and expressed Iran's readiness to develop economic ties.
Iran's crude oil exports to India reached $8 billion, while the country has exported $2.6 billion worth of tea and rice to Iran, the bilateral economic ties have made the total trade volume of $10.6 billion.
India's exports level to Iran in January have increased by 109 percent. The two countries have agreed to trade in rupees and rials, which has raised the volume of trade by over 100 percent.
