Iran expecting Indonesia's support at UNSC Speaker

(www.irna.ir) вЂ" Iran's Majlis expects Indonesia, temporary UNSC member, to support its stands in its peaceful nuclear stand, said Iranian Majlis speaker in a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart.

According to Indonesian official news agency Antara, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel added after his meeting with the Indonesian Parliament Speaker Agung Laksono, "Iran believes the Indonesian Parliament and Government would support our stands regarding our peaceful nuclear program."

The Iranian Majlis Speaker added, "Our people would defend their country with a resolute will and Iran would pursue its uranium enrichment plans aimed at providing energy for peaceful purposes, including generating electricity, medical purposes, and agriculture." The Indonesian Parliament Speaker, too, during the meeting emphasized that the crisis over Iran's nuclear program needs to be solved through diplomatic negotiations, peacefully, reports Trend.

According to the report, the Iranian Majlis Speaker who had arrived in Jakarta on Wednesday night for an official three-day visit would depart for Turkey on Saturday night for Ankara, Turkey.

Haddad-Adel, who had a meeting with the Indonesian President on Friday, had on previous two days met and conferred with his Indonesian counterpart and the heads of this country's Islamic organizations.
