Iran is going to say goodbye to sanctions in late December or at most the first week of January, Iran's Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs and Trade Amir Hossein Zamaninia said.
"So, right now, there is a very suitable atmosphere for foreign companies to work and invest in the country," he said during the Tehran Conference held by the Iranian Oil Ministry to unveil the newly-developed Iran petroleum contracts known in short form as IPC, Trend correspondent reported November 28.
He added that among 20 regional countries, Iran stands fourth regarding business conditions.
"Measures taken in the past two years have lowered the corruption tolerance threshold, which means that there is transparency in the country and the atmosphere is suitable for trade relations with foreign companies," he noted.
A special committee at the level of the heads of Iran's three branches (legislative, executive, and judiciary) has been tasked with fighting economic crimes, according to the official.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Zamaninia pointed out that Iran will consider tax discount for companies working in remote and underdeveloped areas of the country.
He further noted that the Tehran Conference was made possible after Iran and the group 5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) made their landmark deal.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), official name for the Iran nuclear deal, was struck on July 14. According to the deal, Iran is to be freed from international sanctions in return to limiting its nuclear program.
