In addition to a 94 million euros claim, Iran’s insurance industry has covered as much as $25.7 million in heavy damages caused by five major incidents over the past year.
In the meantime Abdolnaser Hemmati, the head of the Central Insurance of Iran, has said that the industry makes $3 billion payment for car accident claims per year, Ibena (Iranian banks and economy news agency) reported.
An April flooding which killed 18 passengers in several cars in north western city of Azarshahr as well as the collapse of a high-rise building in downtown Tehran are among the heavy incidents compensated by Iranian insurers over the past year.
In the most recent one, Iran’s Bou-Ali-Sina Petrochemical Company collected 94 million euros from its insurers to settle claims from a fire incident that damaged its petrochemical plant last year.
