Employees of Iran’s Parviz-Khan border crossing have seized Iraqi trucks trying to smuggle more than 265,000 liters of fuel out of Iran in the past few days, Director General of Kermanshah Customs Administration Khalil Heydari said, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration said in a message.

He said that the trucks belonged to Iraq, adding that the drivers hid the fuel containers in trucks.

The fuel was found and seized by customs officers and handed over to employees of the National Iranian Oil Company.

The main reason for the smuggling of fuel from Iran is that the price of fuel in the country is lower than in the countries of the region.
