Masoud Barzani, head of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Northern Iraq, is expected to visit Iran within the next two weeks.
Adham Barzani, an official with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), has told Mehr news agency that preliminary measures have been taken for Masoud Barzani's visit to Tehran.
The reports regarding Barzani's Tehran visit broke for the first time during the visit of Iran's Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi to the Northern Iraq in mid-May.
An official with the Kurdistan Regional Government earlier suggested that the KRG and Iran had agreed to export KRG's crude oil through the Islamic Republic.
