"Since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), the temperature has increased by 5 degrees compared to the same period last year,” the Iran Electricity Industry Spox Mustafa Rajabi Mashhadi, said, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

He said that the lack of rain has led to the early using of agricultural wells. Agricultural wells were generally used in May.

He added that in April, compared to last year, we are witnessing a 22 percent increase in electricity consumption.

Rajabi Mashhadi stated that if the trend of increasing consumption continues in the coming months, it will not be possible to meet the demand for electricity in summer.
