90% of Georgian Respondents Think Country’s President Most Powerful Person

Georgia, Tbilisi, 17 June / Trend News corr N. Kirtskhalia/ "President Mikheil Saakashvili is the most powerful person in Georgia," most of the 542 respondents surveyed by weekly newspaper Kviris Palitra said.

A total of 90% of the respondents said that it is Georgian President who is the most powerful person in the country. The survey was intended to draw a rating.

Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili took the 2nd position, Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze- 3rd, Speaker David Bakradze- 4th and Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava- 5th position in the rating.

The Secretary of the National Security Council Aleksandr Lomaya, Chairman of the parliamentary committee on security and defence Gigi Targamidze and Defence Minister David Kezerashvili were also considered amongst the country's powerful people.
