The case on the murder of Zurab Vazagashvili and Alexander Khubulov during a special operation near a tennis court in Tbilisi has been solved, according to a statement of the prosecutor general's office of Georgia.

The statement said that in order to re-investigate the case, some 150 witnesses, including one abroad, were interrogated.

Over 10 examinations were conducted during the investigation. The motive for murder of Zurab Vazagashvili and Alexander Khubulov was established.

Some 11 persons were arrested on charges of premeditated murder. Among them is the former deputy chief of the criminal police, Irakli Pirtskhalava, who is accused of organizing the murder, the subsequent concealment of evidences and illegal imprisonment.

The prosecutor general's office said it was Irakli Pirtskhalava who ordered to open fire at the car in which Khubulov, Vazagashvili and others were sitting.
