The same figure also increased by 5 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Georgia’s imports of gasoline over the first 11 months of 2021 amounted to 537,500 tons – an increase of 43,800 tons or 8.9 percent, compared to the same period of 2020.

Georgia’s imports of diesel fuel in the reporting period of 2021 totaled 504,800 tons – a decrease of 6,300 tons or 1.2 percent, compared to the same period of 2020.

As for the types of gasoline fuel, RON-91 gasoline amounted to 346,300 tons (64.4 percent), RON-95 gasoline – 180,300 tons (33.5 percent), RON-98 gasoline – 10,900 tons (2 percent).

According to the Union, despite the increase in fuel prices in 2021, an increase in imports and consumption is observed as well, which is directly related to Georgia’s rapid economic growth and recovery.

Diesel import statistics show a positive trend due to the decrease of unregistered products inflow in Georgia, which is related to the tightening of administration policy, the Union said.
