Saakashvili inaugurates new Georgian embassy office in Ankara

(Cihan) - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili opened the new building of the Georgian Embassy in Ankara, reports Trend.

Saakashvili, who has been in Turkey for a three-day official visit, attended the opening ceremony of the new Georgian embassy office in Turkish capital. Turkish Environment Minster Osman Pepe and Georgian Ambassador to Ankara Grigol Mgaloblishvili were also present at the ceremony.

In his speech, Saakashvili spoke about relations between Georgia and Turkey and noted that the event is another confirmation of the deepening of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Georgian President emphasized that Turkey was the first country to help Georgia. He briefed the press on the projects between the countries and said that Turkey was Georgia's bridge to the world's markets.

The new Embassy of Georgia in Turkey is situated in the business center of Ankara together with the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Qatar.

The Georgian Consulate and residence of the Georgian Ambassador to Turkey is situated near the Embassy.
