The house was unlocked when police arrived. There was no sign of the man who lived at the address, Steven Francis Sueppel , 42, and the family's van was missing, the newspaper reported.

Sueppel was indicted in February for embezzlement and money laundering in connection with the case of 560,000 missing dollars from Hills Bank & Trust, where he was vice president and controller.

During the investigation, Sueppel had admitted taking 219,000 dollars to support his cocaine use, the story said.
