Brilliant Tevez fires Manchester City up to fourth

Carlos Tevez scored a hat-trick as Manchester City beat Blackburn Rovers 4-1 to move up to fourth in the English Premier League.

Michah Richards scored the other goal as City leapfrogged Tottenham into a Champions League berth.

In what was only the third Premier League game to beat the icy weather in Britain over the weekend, City made it four wins out of four with a confident display.

Tevez put City ahead at Eastlands within seven minutes and Richards doubled the home side's lead six minutes before the break.

Tevez scored his second goal and City's third four minutes into the second half and missed a good chance to complete his hat-trick before Morten Gamst Pedersen pulled one back for the visitors.

But Tevez was not finished and did complete his hat-trick with his third of the night, curling the ball into the corner in injury time.
