An earthquake measuring 5.6 Richter scale jolted Indonesia's eastern province of Papua on Thursday evening, the meteorology and geophysics agency said, reports Trend referring to Xinhuanet.com.
The quake struck at 21 : 33 p.m. Jakarta time (1433 GMT) with epicenter at 31 km southeast Mamberamo Tengah and 4 km under earth, it said.
Indonesia is prone to quake as it sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
