It is planned to hold the founding conference of the Journalists Association of OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) Member States and create its secretariat in Baku in 2017, Azerbaijani president’s aide for public and political affairs Ali Hasanov told reporters.
He made the remarks Oct. 3 at a conference of the Journalists Association of OIC Member States in Baku.
Azerbaijan has put forward the idea of establishing the Journalists Association of OIC Member States and took over provision of all organizational issues to establish this organization, as well as to form secretariat of the structure, said Hasanov.
“The achievement of unity and solidarity of journalists of the Islamic states is quite a relevant task,” Hasanov noted. “The protocol of intentions adopted at the current conference in Baku and an appeal on behalf of its participants will be submitted to the OIC General Secretariat and the ministries of information and media of Islamic countries.”
