INT’L CONFERENCE ON CAPITAL MARKETS STARTS IN BAKU

An international conference on �Privatization and its impact on development of capital markets’ started in Baku on Tuesday with organization support from the Baku Stock Exchange and the Federation of Exchanges of Eurasia (FEAS).

Anar Akhundov, the head of BSEX, noted that the conference targets revealing the prospects of investment portfolio.

In his turn Osman Birsen, the President of the FEAS, underlined the importance of the participation of the foreign investments for establishing health rivalry.

Heydar Babayev, the head of the State Committee on Securities, underlined the importance of the development of the securities market, implemented in the country over the past 7 years, since its actual formation. He noted that the state securities are used as an absorbent for money mass, which enables to regulate the inflation prices. Sharp drop in profitability ratio of the securities ranged from 4-5% to 12.5%.

He noted that under the new State Program on Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility in 2006-2015 it is planned to implement several joint events of the Secretariat on Poverty Reduction and the State Committee on Securities.

The conference is dedicated to 5th year of the BSEX. The key objective of the event is to get familiar with the international experience in the privatization, study of the common problems of the region and acquainting the investors with the terms of capital market and its opportunities.
