Turkmenistan adopts Azerbaijan's experience in transition to int'l financial reporting standards

A Turkmen delegation headed by the Finance Ministry's Department head Babajan Chariyev visited Azerbaijan on Nov.22-27 to exchange experiences with the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry in transition to international financial reporting standards and national accounting standards, the ministry reported.

A Turkmen delegation headed by the Finance Ministry's Department head Babajan Chariyev visited Azerbaijan on Nov.22-27 to exchange experiences with the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry in transition to international financial reporting standards and national accounting standards, the ministry reported.

The Turkmen delegation said Azerbaijan's achievements in transition to international financial reporting system is considered as the most successful among the CIS countries, and therefore namely Azerbaijan's experience has been selected for study.

Turkmenistan's law "On Accounting" has been prepared on the basis of a similar law in Azerbaijan, and it has already been submitted for approval to the parliament.

The Azerbaijani ministry familiarized the Turkmen delegation with the legislative acts on the transition to national accounting standards and international accounting standards and provided colleagues with necessary materials to create a legal framework in the field of accounting in Turkmenistan.

The Azerbaijani ministry will also provide the necessary assistance and support in this area to Turkmen colleagues in the future due to long-term phase of the transition to new accounting standards.
