Rouhani slams merciless attacks on Yemen

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has slammed "merciless" attack on Yemen by a neighboring country, Saudi Arabia.
"This war which is underway in Yemen is the merciless attack of a neighboring country, Iran's Fars news agency quoted Rouhani as saying on May 9.
"A government which knows nothing about regional and international politics, and has always done everything using dollars, has chosen bombs this time to show its power," Rouhani said. "This is a strategic fault."
Iran has repeatedly called on Riyadh to immediately halt the air strikes on Yemen, which have continued since March 25, saying that dialogue is the only way to end the current political deadlock in the Arab country.
Tehran also rejects claims about providing military support to the Yemeni rebels.
Rouhani said on May 5 that some Western countries reap benefits from unrest in the region.
He added that unfortunately killings, terrorism, explosions, and destruction have been going on for centuries in the region.
"They make countries in the region to be frightened of each other and pave the way for expanding the weapons market," Rouhani said.
